Lover’s Key is a small group of mangrove islands located between Ft. Myers Beach and Bonita Beach, including two miles of undisturbed beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The islands are collectively known as Lover’s Key State Park (formerly Carl E. Johnson Park). Inland backwaters full of fish, birds, and marine life, separate the islands from each other. Boats with motors are not allowed within the Park, but motorboats are allowed in the Gulf and Bay waters surrounding the Park, and there is a boat ramp within the park. This is to protect the abundant wildlife, which includes manatees, dolphins, various herons and roseate spoonbills, ospreys, bald eagles, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, snook, mullet, rays, and a large variety of shellfish.

There are three options for living steps from Lovers Key. Three high-rise condominium towers were built between 1984 and 2000 on the far North shore of Black Island. Situated on the East side of Estero Blvd., the Lovers Key Beach Club, Island Beach Club and the Lovers Key Beach Club and Resort are literally surrounded by turquoise waters where Big Carlos Pass (and the Gulf Of Mexico) meets Estero Bay.

Lovers Key Beach Club and Resort is 14 stories high and is the newest of the trio of high-rises, being built in 2000.

Units can be rented by the night, week or month, allowing owners the benefit of generating income when not being used personally.
