The Palmira community has received a waiver from the Bonita Springs city council that will allow for the construction of between 150 and 165 new condominiums.
Palmira’s original zoning ordinance required the construction of 50,000 square feet of commercial space, but the city council, recognizing the current glut of commercial space in Bonita Springs, dropped the commercial building requirement.
Palmira developers still have 21 acres of land to compete build-out of the community, which is two miles east of I-75 on the South side of Bonita Beach Rd..
The gated community presently features 13 different neighborhoods which consist of estate homes, villas and coach homes. In addition, Palmira offers 27 holes of golf.
